We are excited to announce the integration of over 100 new writers into the ILLUMINATION Integrated Publications on Medium. This marks a significant addition to our community and reflects our commitment to nurturing diverse voices.
For those aspiring to write for ILLUMINATION, applications can be submitted through our registration portal. We encourage you to review the provided checklist and onboarding materials before sending your stories to our publications. Chapter 1.1: The Importance of Communication
In our ongoing effort to support writers, we have established a new Substack publication on Medium. This initiative aims to enhance collaboration and provide a platform for writers to engage with one another.
We apologize for any delays in responding to your inquiries; the influx of over 500 new applicants has been more than we anticipated. Out of the 3000 requests received, many were spam, making it crucial to sift through submissions to identify genuine talent. Although this process has its challenges, we are thrilled to welcome you aboard.
As we continue to receive applications, if your name is not mentioned in this announcement, please be patient. Our administrative team is diligently working to onboard every new writer. If you find yourself assigned to a publication that doesn't align with your interests, you are welcome to opt out; our priority is to ensure your satisfaction.
Chapter 1.2: How to Get Started
You can begin submitting your best stories—just one per publication each day. Please remember that we only accept drafts now and no longer allow self-published pieces. Given our growing community of over 30,000 writers and only 30 volunteer editors, we are committed to quality but can only publish a limited number of stories daily.
To enhance our efficiency, we will soon roll out a priority publishing service funded by our own resources, as our publications currently do not generate income. Details on this service will be shared in an upcoming newsletter, which we hope you will support.
Chapter 2: Resources for New Writers
As a new contributor, you may have questions about the platform. We encourage you to reach out to our team for clarification on any issues. Our chief editor, Dr. Mehmet Yildiz, has a backlog of inquiries, so if you need urgent assistance, please contact his volunteer backups, who can help facilitate communication.
In addition to the onboarding process, we recommend joining our Slack group. This platform allows for seamless interaction among writers and editors, offering a space to share your work and connect with others.
Chapter 2.1: Following Submission Guidelines
It's important to familiarize yourself with our submission guidelines. We prioritize well-crafted stories that adhere to our quality standards. If you're interested in our curated publication, ILLUMINATION-Curated, please ensure your submissions meet the advanced criteria detailed in the guidelines.
We encourage all contributors to review the master onboarding pack, which contains vital information regarding our publications. After reviewing, kindly confirm by leaving a brief message indicating your understanding of the material.
Chapter 2.2: Community Engagement and Networking
With the rise of fraudulent activities on Medium, we urge our new writers to adhere to platform policies strictly. Engaging in unethical practices, such as purchasing fake engagement, can lead to account suspension.
For writers interested in specific topics, we now have new publications dedicated to health and science, created by our editors. If you have expertise in these areas, please reach out to express your interest.
