Friday, September 22nd — Saturday, September 23rd: Last Day and Return Journey
On the eve of my departure, I indulged in a long sleep, perhaps influenced by unsettling dreams that left me feeling sluggish. I decided to take this final day easy, allowing myself a moment of relaxation. I napped extensively, caught up on some Netflix, and reflected on my journey. As night fell, I began packing my belongings, preparing for the inevitable farewell. We shared conversations and cherished our last moments together, staying up late into the night. Eventually, I managed to drift off to sleep around 2 AM.
Reluctantly, I awoke around 4 AM to begin my journey home. After getting ready, we headed to the bus stop, encountering others returning from a night out. When my bus arrived, the early morning crowd was quite lively, and I boarded, ready to travel to the airport alone.

Upon reaching the airport, I found I had ample time to spare—about three hours before my flight. This allowed me to explore and shop a bit. No matter where I travel, I like to pick up a small souvenir. This time, I bought gifts for loved ones back home, including a chocolate box featuring 20 unique designs and a spice set with eight different spices, perfect for chicken, tzatziki, gyros, and potatoes. I also found a lovely vase I knew my mom would adore.
As I waited for my flight, I lost myself in music, reflecting on my life, this incredible journey, and what I wanted to convey in this blog. Before I knew it, it was time to board and head home.

The flight was delightful, especially the breathtaking view as we ascended over the sea. However, upon landing, I was greeted with dismal weather—rainy, windy, and cold. Despite the gloomy atmosphere, I didn't linger at home long. I soon ventured out to reconnect with those in my life. While I returned to my familiar surroundings, I felt transformed.

Reflecting on My Transformative Journey
My odyssey began with a bold decision to leave a job that no longer fulfilled me, seeking solace and clarity in Greece. I envisioned a journey of self-discovery, aiming to achieve substantial mental and physical growth.
Initially, I embarked on this adventure filled with excitement, but not everything unfolded as I had envisioned. Upon arrival, I was met with challenges—the city was flooded, and we lacked electricity and water for days. For much of my stay, tap water was unavailable, even for showers.
These hardships taught me valuable lessons, highlighting that life often presents unforeseen obstacles. They reinforced my belief that everything happens for a reason, in its own time. Adversity sparked my creativity, leading us to devise innovative solutions for daily challenges, from using candles for light to heating bottled water for makeshift showers.
My time there was rich with connection, starting with the unwavering support from my friend, who uplifted me with encouraging words and helped me believe in myself. I am genuinely thankful for her kindness, despite our recent disagreements.
I also met a young man during my stay, someone I connected with online shortly after arriving. Our conversations blossomed, and when we finally met, he proved to be kind, attentive, and inspiring. We shared countless hours discussing life and experiences, and I cherished every thoughtful gesture he offered.
Although I grappled with emotions I had suppressed, this experience allowed me to confront and process them. I realized that the indifference of someone from my past did not diminish my worth. This new connection showed me the importance of self-worth and how deserving I am of kindness and appreciation.
Through this journey, I encountered numerous wonderful people, from my friend’s family to new acquaintances, all leaving a lasting positive impression. Their warmth and generosity made my experience even more enriching.
While I have mixed feelings about my journey, I recognize the wealth of experiences and insights I gained. I embarked on an online course that provided valuable lessons, though I have yet to complete it due to distractions. Nevertheless, I maintain an optimistic outlook, knowing that acknowledging my mistakes is crucial for growth.
Though my plans didn’t always align with reality, I feel I am on the right track toward self-improvement. I firmly believe that, alongside our goals, we must appreciate the journey itself, savoring each experience along the way.
In closing, I truly feel I have evolved as a person through this adventure. Although my time in Greece has ended, my life story continues, and I look forward to the exciting opportunities that await.
Thank you for accompanying me on this journey! I am certain I will travel again soon and return with another travel journal!
