“Our human ancestry has intertwined with various humanoid species throughout history, including Neanderthals, Homo erectus, and others,” the user articulated, delving into the intricate tapestry of human evolution. “Just 50,000 years ago, numerous human species inhabited the planet, but today, only we remain. He recounted his father’s personal experience during the war when he claimed to have seen creatures resembling “orangutans” in the dense foliage along the Vietnamese-Cambodian border. Given that orangutans are native only to Malaysia and Indonesia, the veteran described these beings as standing around 150 cm tall, with muscular builds and striking red hair. This sighting left the user and his father perplexed.

Another Redditor shared a related story from another Vietnam veteran who described an incident where one of these creatures attacked in a fit of rage. “Years later, after observing actual orangutans at the zoo, he realized that what he had seen were not orangutans,” the user emphasized, suggesting they were entirely unknown entities.
