Chapter 1: A Moment of Reflection
It’s essential to pause, take a moment, and express gratitude for our existence. Today, I’ve chosen to reflect on the immense appreciation I hold for my life.
Currently, I find myself comfortably seated at Macca's, engaging with locals and fellow Medium writers while working on my phone. I recently had my regular six-week hair appointment with Kylie, known as The Family Outback Hairdresser, who has once again made me feel beautiful. This visit followed an exciting Gala Event where I unexpectedly dressed up and was honored with the title of Queen of the Busselton Festival 2024, a moment I cherish.
At this stage in my life, I’m grateful for my excellent health, especially considering my age and past challenges. I’ve faced serious health issues, including a battle with cancer and severe leg injuries from a traffic accident. (I have a story to share about how a red dress once saved my life!)
I am surrounded by a supportive family who loves and cares for me, making me feel truly blessed. With a secure residence in the Masonic Homes village, a dependable car, and the advantage of nearly free petrol along with other subsidies, my old age pension sustains me through careful budgeting.
None of this is taken for granted. Living in Busselton, having the chance to write, publish, and share my experiences with the world is a remarkable privilege. Being embraced by this community is humbling and fills me with gratitude.
I am genuinely fortunate. Thank you.
