Typically, the managers and leaders we admire in our workplaces are those who possess a high degree of social and emotional intelligence. Just like in person, maintaining politeness and courtesy is essential for thriving in social media environments.

Social intelligence also encompasses broader societal issues such as cultural diversity, inclusivity, and privacy. Reckless comments made in haste can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts within social groups. Individuals with strong social intelligence are mindful of the repercussions of their words in both in-person discussions and digital communications. They serve as role models by consistently communicating clearly, respectfully, and neutrally while honoring others' perspectives and privacy.
