While various writers have discussed engagement in general, I believe it's time to delve deeper into sincerity as a driving force. As I continue my journey on Medium, one truth stands out: the algorithm remains a mystery. However, one thing is certain—genuine engagement is the most effective way to gain readership and foster lasting relationships.

Engagement encompasses actions like clapping, reading, and commenting, but I suggest we elevate it further. After leaving thoughtful, in-depth comments on others' stories, I’ve noticed a significant uptick in readers visiting my own work. My intent was never to gain attention; I simply expressed my genuine thoughts after reading their pieces. Yet, these heartfelt comments inspired others to explore my stories as well.

A well-crafted, thoughtful comment provides a unique opportunity to showcase your writing, albeit briefly. While lengthy comments shouldn’t resemble a full story, sharing your reflections on what a piece made you think can demonstrate to the author that you truly engaged with their work. This not only highlights your own perspective but also opens the door for others to discover your writing. Additionally, engaging with the comments of others has introduced me to new writers who have since become friends.

Longer comments can also ignite conversations, which is where the real excitement lies! Of course, not every story warrants extensive commentary; authenticity is key. Choose a few pieces that resonate with you, and your thoughtful remarks may yield unexpected outcomes.

There’s a distinction between mere engagement and heartfelt interaction. Many successful individuals on Medium embrace this authentic approach, and it has proven fruitful for them.

Recently, personal challenges have limited my ability to engage as much as I would like. However, I’ve observed that when I do participate sincerely, my statistics improve. Authenticity is essential; if your motivation is solely results-driven, it loses its meaning. I genuinely enjoy reading and commenting on others' works, and if that passion weren’t there, I wouldn’t be able to sustain it. This has been my struggle with social media, which is why I haven’t hit it big financially.

While my earnings are gradually increasing, they aren't skyrocketing like some others.

I’m perfectly content with this, as my goal on Medium isn't to amass wealth or even a steady income. I believe that over time, my efforts will yield rewards, yet my primary focus remains on my books and coaching business.

Currently, I'm developing my website while I complete the final courses for my Practical Herbalism certification. As a Holistic Health Coach, I intend to leverage this education to establish an online coaching business.

I’m taking my time with this. As the Greeks say, "Sigá, sigá"—slowly, slowly. This pace suits me well; rushing often leads to a loss of passion. I've learned this lesson through experience.
