My initial foray into writing on Medium was motivated by a desire to enhance my English skills, especially as I prepared for an important trip to the United States. During this process, I stumbled upon my passion for coding and productivity, which fueled my writing journey.
I never anticipated that I would earn any money through Medium or blogging, yet to my surprise, I did. My first article, targeted at members only, was titled "Mental Disabilities Are a Blessing for Programmers." Upon publication, it generated a modest income of $0.28.
Initially, I was apprehensive about whether anyone would read my article, given that it was available exclusively to members. I worried that those members, seeking quality content, might be disappointed by average writing. While the article didn't go viral, it garnered 172 claps on its first day, which filled me with joy. I proudly shared this achievement with my family and friends.
At this stage, I still consider myself a novice writer, working towards building a substantial and engaged audience. To facilitate this, I plan to share most of my articles in the non-member section of Medium, reserving only my best work for the premium section. In the future, I may explore various monetization strategies for my blog posts.
