A Journey of Recovery: My Inspiring Healing After Hip Surgery
Written on
Chapter 1: My Recovery Begins
As I enter the second week of my journey to replace my worn-out hip with a titanium implant, I've successfully abandoned the walker and cane. I'm now walking, albeit cautiously, on my own two feet. Today, I even took my dog for a walk.
The process has certainly been challenging and painful at times, yet I've found relief through medication. My physical therapist has noted that my recovery is impressive, and I'm progressing faster than most, inching closer to driving and returning to tennis.
Section 1.1: The Five Key Elements of My Recovery
I credit my healing to five essential factors that have all played a significant role.
Subsection 1.1.1: Starting From a Strong Place
Having a solid fitness foundation has been advantageous. I was a college athlete and have consistently prioritized my health through various physical activities. In the past, I engaged in yoga (which I had to limit in the last two years due to hip issues), running with my dogs, tai chi twice a week, tennis, and a routine of push-ups and sit-ups. My overall fitness level, particularly in leg strength, has aided my recovery immensely.
Section 1.2: Quality Medical Care
Lynne and I consulted multiple surgeons before choosing Dr. Brooks, who came highly recommended. His impressive track record includes thousands of successful hip replacements and recognition for minimizing complications through a specialized protocol that all his patients follow. He leads an exceptional team dedicated to maintaining high standards throughout the process.
They even allowed me to bring my own music into the operating room. I opted for a loop of "Eternal Om" by Stephen Sutphen, which has a high vibrational quality. I wanted to avoid any country tunes playing in the background, as I didn't want an unwanted song stuck in my subconscious.
Additionally, I visited my chiropractor, Dr. Runco, the Thursday before my surgery to prepare my body. My in-home physical therapist was excellent, and I diligently followed his exercise regimen, feeling stronger each day.
Chapter 2: A Positive Healing Mindset
I am resolute about returning to full health as swiftly as possible, employing a technique I developed known as the Best Possible Outcome (BPO) process. This method, outlined in my book, The Manifestation Book, can be applied to various situations, whether seeking a good parking spot or a successful surgery recovery.
The BPO process involves asking my Higher Self for the optimal outcome for all involved and then surrendering the result to Spirit, trusting that the outcome may exceed my expectations. I've utilized this technique daily, from the moment I wake up to the time I go to sleep, including before my surgery.
The first video, "Tom's Story: Total Hip Replacement Surgery," shares a personal account of recovery that resonates with my experience. It highlights the emotional and physical aspects of this journey.
Section 2.1: The Power of Meditation
Six years ago, after being let go from a high-profile job for whistle-blowing, I delved into meditation. This practice led to a breakthrough where I became acutely aware of my Higher Self and the connection between the 5th Dimension and our physical existence. I recognized my eternal essence residing within a complex physical body.
This journey inspired me to converse with my Soul, leading to five books, numerous blog posts, and YouTube videos on my Higher Consciousness Channel. Through these revelations, I developed a meditation technique called Higher Consciousness Meditation, which often brings about moments of illumination and healing, as detailed in my book, The Meditation Book.
I engage in Higher Consciousness Meditation at least twice daily, consistently achieving a sense of enlightenment and unity with my divine consciousness. During these illuminated states, healing occurs on multiple levels as needed.
The second video, "Dawn's Story - Hip Replacement Surgery," recounts another individual’s experience, providing additional insights into the healing process.
Section 2.2: Mindfulness Practices
In addition to longer meditation sessions, I've incorporated brief mindfulness techniques throughout my day. These techniques, developed for specific situations, raise awareness when needed and serve as quick reminders of my eternal nature.
One technique I frequently employed is "Peace Be Stillness," particularly when experiencing pain. This practice helped calm my mind and body during discomfort, leading to a reduction in irritation. The phrase "Peace" would shift my energy, "Be" would remind me of my Higher Self, and "Stillness" would guide me into a tranquil state.
Other affirmations like "I am Divine Consciousness" and "Higher Consciousness and I are One" have uplifted my spirit and provided comfort.
Chapter 3: Pre-Surgery Preparation
Before my surgery, I had a session with a gifted healer named George, who we consult at critical times. He has the ability to identify and address underlying issues that might hinder my healing. During our session, we worked on unresolved subconscious patterns from my past, effectively clearing the path for my surgery.
The support from family and friends has been invaluable. My wife Lynne has been my rock, providing care and comfort throughout this journey. My son Justin drove us to the hospital early on the day of surgery and remained by my side, while other family members and neighbors helped ease my recovery with meals and encouragement.
Section 3.1: The Holistic Approach to Healing
Having explored healing for years, I recognize the importance of a comprehensive approach that includes mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects. My upcoming book will delve deeper into this subject. Initially, I hoped to heal my hip naturally, but when it became evident that surgery was necessary, I prepared to apply all my knowledge to ensure a successful outcome.
I believe that the combination of various healing modalities has significantly contributed to my speedy recovery. Surgery was certainly a key factor, but I am convinced that anyone facing physical, mental, or emotional challenges can create their own recovery plan, drawing from multiple resources to enhance their healing journey.
