Exploring ILLUMINATION's New Curation Service — Volume 15

Written on

Dear Readers and Writers,

Happy Weekend!

This weekend, we have a selection of fantastic stories for your reading pleasure. In line with our new curation initiative, we've compiled this collection to highlight exceptional pieces recommended by our dedicated volunteer editors and ILLUMINATION-Curators from ILLUMINATION Integrated Publications on Medium.com, which supports over 24,000 writers.

We've previously shared the rationale behind this initiative, and if you missed it, you can catch up on earlier volumes: Volume 1 through Volume 14. We hope you enjoy this Volume 15!

We're thrilled to announce that our special publication, ILLUMINATION-Curated, has gained recognition as a valuable nominating publication. You can learn more about how ILLUMINATION Publications supports the BOOST Program.

It's essential to note that the stories included here are nominated by our volunteer editors, who are also writers and readers on this platform. This collection reflects their collective preferences. ILLUMINATION maintains a neutral stance regarding all published stories, making it impossible to feature every single one of the over a million stories available. Nevertheless, we strive to amplify as many outstanding stories as we can, almost daily, based on our volunteers' availability.

Stories possess the power to shape a writer’s distinct viewpoint. For instance, our chief editor was inspired by a recent narrative, envisioning the potential impact of having more writers share their cherished experiences in similar ways. This is a chance to discover a variety of narratives and inspirations, enriching our platform with diverse voices.

> A Heartwarming Tale of a Woman Who Found Love After Marriage, but Not With Her Spouse

Medium flourishes through the essential collaboration between writers and readers, cultivating an exceptional environment for both groups. Here, our editors and administrators generously contribute their time, ensuring that every writer can express their voice.

Their dedication involves the daily review and publication of stories without compensation, and it’s crucial to recognize and appreciate their invaluable contributions as we utilize this service.

Engaging with these writers through comments, applause, sharing on social media, and following their profiles brings immense joy to them. Your support serves as a significant motivator, encouraging them to produce more remarkable pieces like those featured in this collection.

Among our 145 volunteer editors, a dedicated team of 57 curators developed this new service to enhance story visibility. Each curator selects a few stories from their reading lists daily, which our lead ILLUMINATION-Curators then compile into collections for our readers. However, we can only include a limited number of stories to keep these posts concise.

> Our lead curators feature selected stories in lists, a fantastic Medium feature. When you see your stories in these lists, feel free to save, share them on social media, link to your stories, and leave comments or likes to boost visibility. The entire curation process is time-consuming, and we appreciate your support as much as you can afford.

Many editors, including our chief editor Dr. Mehmet Yildiz, also create lists of stories they read from our publication. We will include these lists in our collections. Below are examples of curated pieces recently compiled by Dr. Yildiz from his tech account:

In September and October, writers' earnings have declined due to fraudulent activities on Medium, as discussed in a piece by Mike Broadly, DHSc titled Here’s What Seems to Happen to Medium Last Week.

Yesterday, we introduced one of our outstanding writers, Ammara Hassan.

Meet Ammara Hassan on Medium

An inspiring writer with degrees in social and political sciences.

Our editors appreciate Ammara’s narratives and nominate them for these curated collections. You can explore other editor profiles in the attached collection.

Daily List for Sharing — Volume 15

In this collection, you'll discover relevant and enjoyable pieces covering various topics. Today, our editor and media coordinator Aiden (Illumination Gaming) volunteered to create the list, making it easy to share this collection on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Reddit, or Quora.

Curated Collection V15 - ILLUMINATION

Let's all engage with this list and at least tweet it so more readers can find these stories. This is the purpose of these curated lists.

We appreciate your wonderful support for these writers, who pour their hearts and souls into these narratives for your enjoyment.

Here are the nominated stories from enthusiastic readers today.
